At the end of last year, I knew that heading into 2016 was going to be a busy one. Jon and I were getting married, work was picking up, and I knew that I needed to take it easy on weddings this year. I had it in my mind that I was only going to do 5 weddings and The Condon Wedding was the last of those 5 and I couldn't be happier I'm "going out of season" with this wedding.
I met Casey & Derek in a very serendipitous way. Their original photographer (*shout out* Skylar Scott Photography!) found out she was expecting and asked if she could refer them to me. I said absolutely, because I love Skylar, and I couldn't be more thankful that I did! The Signature at West Neck is one of my favorite venues I have ever photographed. There is seriously a photogenic view in every turn of this golf course. We had the opportunity to take the golf cart out and about and I was just in awe at the amount of places I wanted to shoot. It was a stunning September day, albeit a wee toasty, but every bead of sweat was so worth it, we had perfect light all day long.
I always find myself saying "this couple is the definition of true love" and that is no exception for these two. They both have this infectious energy that immediately feel like you've known them forever. I walked into Casey's hotel room the morning of, had never met her before, and she welcomed me with a 'Survival Kit' -- gah, what a life saver. She was so laid back and just thankful that all of her friends and family flew in to be with them on their biggest day that her smile never left her face. Derek is so sweet and he and his groomsmen have the best sense of humor, making it the easiest wedding day ever. I am so glad I met both of them because I truly feel like I have a new definition for the words dedicated, passionate, hard-working, and soulmates.
