I've never been to Colorado, never seen the Rockies, and definitely never seen a ski slope. So when Krista asked me to photograph her wedding day in Breckenridge, CO, I'm pretty sure I said "HELL YES" before she finished typing. I've been waiting for this trip for months, much like Nate & Krista and it surely didn't disappoint.
Krista and I were talking back and forth frequently before the big day and one thing that kept coming up was "I hope it snows.." The forecast wasn't looking good in the weeks leading up, no snow and highs in the upper 40's and sometimes in the 50's. Although I was just excited to be there, part of me really wanted it to snow too.
And then something amazing happened....
The forecast changed. There was a system developing a little to the west and it was supposed to dump snow on Breckenridge on her wedding day! I kept my fingers crossed but knew that anything can happen this time of year. And on the day of Nate & Krista's wedding day.. it started snowing and it did not stop for THREE DAYS. Not only did it make for the most epic wedding ceremony I've ever shot, but also made for two perfect skiing days afterwards ;) Their Breckenridge Nordic Center Wedding was absolutely one of my favorites ever.
These two have been through a tough last few months planning this wedding... but I hope that the pictures below are just a small testament of how incredible their day turned out to be.
Nate & Krista: Thank you both so much for inviting me to capture this unbelievable start to your Happily Ever After. This entire trip was one of the best I've ever had and I owe it both to you. Congratulations to you both and I can't wait to watch your love and your family grow!
